Tankerton Football Club Launches Campaign for Sponsors and Supporters Ahead of New Ground Opening
Tankerton Football Club (TFC), a proud and inclusive charity football club at the heart of the community, is calling on local businesses and supporters to help make a lasting impact as it prepares to move into its brand-new home ground.
The new facility, which is currently under development, marks a major milestone in the club’s journey. It will provide a much-needed space for TFC’s expanding number of teams – from grassroots squads starting at age 7, through to competitive adult teams – and will become a year-round hub for sport, health, and community connection.
“This new ground isn’t just about football – it’s about building something for everyone,” said Tim Elgar who is TFC’s Co-Chair of Trustees. “We have always been a club that champions inclusion, participation, and community spirit. We now need our supporters to help us complete the project as we have faced a major setback with a major supplier going into administration. The supplier was scheduled to construct the access road and car parks for the new facility, providing these services on a pro-bono basis as part of a community initiative. The club now needs to secure new support for this part of the project. It also leaves the club unable to meet the scheduled September 2025 opening date of the facility, meaning the club will continue to have the headache and cost of finding other facilities for local children to play football.
As a registered charity, the club is now seeking sponsorships, donations, and in-kind support to help fund the final phases of development and secure long-term sustainability. From pitch maintenance and equipment to changing facilities and community outreach programmes, every contribution makes a difference.
Local businesses are invited to join the club as official sponsors – with opportunities for brand exposure across kits, signage, events, and media. Individuals can also show their support through one-off donations, fundraising efforts, or by sponsoring a player or team.
“This new facility will allow us to grow the club, reach more young people, and provide a safe, inclusive environment where everyone can develop their skills and confidence – both on and off the pitch,” said Tim. “We’re asking the community to stand with us, invest in our future, and be part of something truly special.”
