‘The ‘End of an era’
Sometimes words cannot describe how you can give credit to someone’s commitment, dedication and support they offer a club like Tankerton FC... because there never seems to be enough words to describe them.
So when you breakdown T.I.M. - we have come up with the following acronyms;
T – Tenacious, trusted, team player, thoughtful, testing boundaries and tireless in his efforts for the club.
I – Inspirational, Instrumental, Intelligent - his ‘political’ prowess is clearly demonstrated in his impressive reports of the clubs growth and success, responses to emails [complaints but also compliments]; he hits the right mark, he is always striving for continuous improvement, strategically scanning horizons for new opportunities to broaden our publicity, support networks and funding opportunities.
M – Motivational, an excellent Manager and man manager, but most of all he has been our proud leader and ambassador for this wonderful club.
When you look back to 1996 when TFC was established, we were a small back water club with just a couple of teams; over the past 20 years we have progressed into a fantastic progressive club which is recognised at a national, regional and local level with over 30 teams playing under our badge. The club has achieved so much, but this has been much more noticeable since Tim came on board, initially as Vice Chairman, then Chairman. His vision and passion since becoming our chairman, has lead the club in its expansion and rapid progression, he has put in considerable work in the pursuit of land that we can call our home!
Tim has dedicated many, many hours to coach football, support children in being able to play football and facilitate fundraising events, all too often at the detriment of his family and working life outside the club. Tim has gone way beyond everyone’s expectation in demonstrating his commitment..
To list just some examples:
- Taken teams on UK and International tours to, Wembley, Charlton, Ireland, and France.
- Boxing Day dips – swimming in the Tankerton Sea to raise funds
- Linked us with key partners, Twinning Association, Businesses, Football Clubs, other registered charities, Kent FA and Kent Powerchair Association, Trustees, Sponsors, media, local councilors and even MPs.
- Facilitated or supported many community and club events including quiz nights, club fun-days, Arsenal Soccer schools, TFC golf days, car parking duties, community events, award nights and being the proud chairman of our biggest fundraising event to date, The Frank Skinner Auction Night.
- Proud club achievements: Recognitions include:

This season Tim has led his Senior Colts side to be the division 3 Winners in their league!!!
On behalf of Tankerton FC we would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Tim for being a superb chairman for the past 5+ years;
Tim won’t be a stranger he will still be the club’s Chairman to the trustees, and, as always he will have Tankerton FC in his heart as he continues to find us land to build our own facilities and clubhouse.
