Harnessing the power of the football community in Kent and the South-East to fight cardiac risk in the young, working with the clubs to provide and fund heart screenings for 14 – 35 year olds across Kent in conjunction with Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
The screening takes 15 mins and consists of Doctors and cardeologists administering a simple test; if anomalies are detected a further screening takes place there and then. The screening is open to that age range above but not exclusive to footballers it’s also open to siblings [within that age bracket] too.
Gillingham FC amongst other clubs have agreed use of their facilities; however the cost of Gills for 2 days is £7,000 for testing to take place in their exec boxes. Each screening costs £35 per person, whilst Roger isn’t expecting all participants to pay this donations are very welcome from participants and any sponsors. Sponsors will receive publicity in the campaign which can be discussed separately with Roger.
Individuals secure their bookings through the website www.testmyheart.org ,click on private screenings where a calendar of locations/dates will appear with vacancies on it. Further details on the campaign can be obtained via their campaign website www.footballfightback.com
